Our packaging

La Rosée travaille jour après jour à l'éco-conception de ses packs pour réduire son impact sur l’environnement

294 tons of cardboard have been saved since our beginnings.

Since La Rosée was founded in 2015, we’ve chosen to avoid overpackaging in order to drastically reduce waste. At the time, we were the only brand- sold in pharmacies without secondary packaging.

We also work every day on the eco-design of our packaging, taking environmental concerns into account at every stage of their life cycle to minimize their impact on the planet.

Therefore, we are increasing our use of recycled, bio-based materials and working to improve their recyclability.

Choosing to incorporate recycled materials is a real challenge—these materials are often more difficult to work with and can be less aesthetically pleasing.

Our bottles

Currently, our pump bottles are up to 100% recycled, especially from recyclable water bottles*. To fully commit to the process and further reduce our waste, we have also eliminated the plastic protectors that used to wrap or block the pumps

Our glass bottles are made with over 25% recycled glass to reduce their carbon footprint.

We have successfully reduced the weight of our glass bottles by 6%, which will help to reduce their carbon footprint.

The glass bottles are endlessly recyclable.

*except for pumps.

Our tubes

Our tubes are all made from vegetable plastic, sourced from sugar cane*.

Originally from Brazil, sugarcane is a renewable resource with sustainable cultivation; it requires little water, no pesticides, and grows easily. As a result, it does not require a lot of cultivable area. To make the process even more sustainable, the waste from its production is transformed into fertilizer and biofuel to power neighboring cities.

Our vegetable-based plastic offers the same protection, preservation, and recyclability properties as petroleum-based plastic.

*Except for our two toothpastes, where the tubes are recycled from milk bottles.

Our stick formats

We made the innovative choice to use a solid stick format for our Masks, Eye Contour.

This approach helps to save water, limit preservatives, and ensure longer-lasting use.

Our cardboard boxes

The cardboard boxes of our soap and refills are made of FSC-certified recycled cardboard. This certification, provided by the WWF association, guarantees the legality of wood use, the absence of links to illegal deforestation, the sustainable management of forests, and the preservation of biodiversity.

The FSC label is the benchmark for the paper industry and sets strict requirements: only 5% of the world’s forests are FSC-certified.

Our refills

Refills are a natural extension of our commitments and now represent more than a quarter of our range.

After creating the first refillable lip balm available in pharmacies, we launched refills for two of our bestsellers in 2023: our Cleansing Shower Oil and Ultra-Soft Washing Gel.

We also developed a refillable jar for our Body Scrub, and our Deodorant became the first refillable stick deodorant available in pharmacies—an innovation we deliberately chose not to patent, encouraging competitors to adopt this approach.

In January 2024, we reached a new milestone by launching the first 100% refillable liquid haircare range in pharmacies, featuring a glass bottle designed to be endlessly refillable. On average, these refills reduce plastic use by 74% compared to full-size packaging.
