Our strict formulation charter

Since our creation, our obsession has been to clean up our product formulations and ban controversial ingredients, ensuring high tolerance for all skin types, even the most sensitive, while guaranteeing optimal efficacy and an unparalleled sensory experience. We prioritize natural ingredients and more responsible sourcing.

Going beyond European regulations—the strictest in the world—we formulate our products according to a rigorous charter that excludes hundreds of controversial ingredients. We continuously work to improve our formulas: if any doubt arises regarding the safety of a substance, we ensure it is replaced to always guarantee maximum safety.

For you, we want complete transparency.

We formulate WITHOUT: Parabens, MIT, Mineral oils, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Phthalates, Silicones, Benzophenones, BHA/BHT, Alkylphenols, Aluminium salts, PEGs, EDTA, Nanomaterials, Essential oils…*

*according to the definition of the European Cosmetic Regulation

Why do we ban these ingredients from our formulations?

We know that more and more of you want to understand what you put on your skin and really pay attention to the ingredients contained in current dermo-cosmetics.

That's why we are committed to clearly explaining our formulation charter to you..

Les ingrédients que nous bannissons

Endocrine disruptors are chemical substances suspected of disrupting or interfering with our hormonal system. They have the ability to mimic or block the action of hormones. These also could be largely responsible for the increase in many disorders and pathologies (infertility, hormone-dependent cancers, diabetes, etc.)

  • Parabens
  • Phthalates
  • Triclosan
  • Triclocarban
  • Cyclic silicones (D4, D5, D6)
  • BHA-BHT
  • Benzophenones

The following ingredients may irritate the eyes, skin, respiratory system, or cause allergies.

  • Phenoxyethanol
  • Benzophenones
  • Butylphenyl methylpropional (lilial)
  • MIT (Methylisothiazolinone) and MCIT (Methylchlorothiazolinone)
  • Formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasers
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)

  • Butylphenyl methylpropional (Lilial)
  • Aluminium salts
  • Formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasers
  • Nanomaterials (according to the definition of the European Cosmetic Regulation)

The following ingredients are derived from petrochemicals, have a significant environmental impact, or are non-biodegradable. Product biodegradability refers to its ability to fully or partially decompose in the environment. The ecological impact of these ingredients is very significant when they are integrated into cosmetic products because they go into the waste water, which is then discharged into rivers and oceans.

  • PEGs (Polyethylene glycol)
  • Silicones
  • Mineral oils: paraffin, petrolatum, mineral oil, vaseline, and microcrystalline wax
  • EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid)
  • GMOs
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)

We prioritize plant-based ingredients in our formulas. The majority of our formulas are vegan and therefore contain no animal-derived ingredients. We allow a few exceptions:

  • Our Nourishing Stick Mask and Repairing SOS Balm contain beeswax.
  • Our Tinted Nourishing Lip Stick contains a natural non-vegan colorant.

Beeswax has been used in cosmetics for centuries for its nourishing and protective properties, but the issue of protecting biodiversity arises when it is harvested. Large pieces of hives can be crushed by the machines that collect the wax and kill a large number of bees. Fortunately, some companies have become aware of the problem and have found alternatives to this process, using wax collected from naturally fallen pieces.

Aware of this problem at La Rosée, we have chosen to work with three French suppliers, who respect these good practices and are EcoVadis certified.

The question of fragrance

At La Rosée, we combine safety, tolerance, and pleasure. We have therefore chosen to include fragrances in our products, selected and formulated with the utmost care to respect even the most demanding skin types. Our fragrances are developed with French perfumers, and to ensure optimal tolerance for all skin types, we work to limit the presence of allergens in our formulas.

These allergens are not added as such to the formula but are an integral part of the fragrance. They are subject to strict regulations and mandatory labeling in the ingredient list above a certain threshold.

According to the European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety, 1% to 3% of the European population is allergic to a fragrance ingredient.

These ingredients are identifiable in our ingredient lists, in accordance with Cosmetic regulations.

With this strict charter of ingredients that we ban from our formulations, you can trust the composition of our products blindly.
